About Me
My name's Jon Carifio. I'm a research software engineer at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I work on several interesting projects related to astronomy and data visualization. My academic background is in physics and math, with my dissertation focused on the phenomenology of a particular class of string theory vacua.
I'm originally from Plaistow, NH, but currently live along the Fens in Boston, MA. In addition to working at the CfA, I've taught for Northeastern's physics department and the Gordon Institute of Engineering Leadership, and also spent a few years in the textbook publishing industry.
